Connecting people, place, time, and space

Join in the discussion as experts explore Museums Victoria projects from the past, present, and future. These projects embrace technology and promote digital literacy, enabling future pathways in education, work and the economy.

This event will be live streamed. You will also hear from members of the Beyond Perception Junior Board, a group of youth experts who helped in bringing to life the digital experience of Beyond Perception: Seeing the Unseen.

Hear about:

  • Beyond Perception: Seeing the Unseen, opening at Scienceworks in May 2018. This long term exhibition features large immersive experiences, a generative soundscape, and animated stories from Victorian scientists and engineers. Created in consultation with a team of creative teens, Beyond Perception is a complex and richly scientific exhibition.
  • The in-development Royal Exhibition Building gaming experience using gaming technology to offer audiences an experience to explore the building and connect with the heritage of Melbourne.
  • First Peoples of Victoria education offering that uses technology to enable students to complete specific tasks which encourages them to discuss the knowledge, skills and practices that have been passed down over 2000 generations.

This event is supported by Melbourne Knowledge Week and the City of Melbourne. Check mkw.melbourne.vic.gov.au for upcoming information on Melbourne Knowledge Week in the West!
