Drawing on nature: Wattle we draw?
- Online WORKSHOP
- General information
- Ages 6–12
Our world has a diversity of beautiful native flora. Learning about our local plant-life, and drawing inspiration from it, will help us connect with and protect our natural environments.
In this fun and interactive online program, designed by Melbourne Museum, children will learn observation techniques, learn how to focus on the small details of texture, colour, shape and pattern in the world around them and follow a step-by-step activity to draw a native plant.
You will need:
- A few pieces of paper
- A grey lead pencil
- An eraser
- Yellow, green, brown and other coloured pencils
This is an online creative workshop, hosted live on the Zoom Webinar platform by Melbourne Museum educators, inspired by the Forest Gallery and Milarri Garden at the museum. Spaces are limited so please register in advance to avoid disappointment.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Recommended for families with children ages 6 to 12. There will be moments in the webinar when you can choose to put your camera on to engage with educators.
