Book Week is returning to Melbourne Museum this August!
This year the theme for Children's Book Week is Escape to Everywhere and we’re inviting children and families to join us here at Melbourne Museum for a range of special Book Week activities!
Come along dressed up as your favourite character and attend one of our Museum Stories reading sessions throughout the week or join our spectacular dress-up Book Parade through the museum galleries!
From meeting pre-historic dinosaurs to exploring a living forest, let your imagination run wild and Escape to Everywhere at Melbourne Museum!
Costume Parade and Story Time
Dress up as your favourite book character and join our fun and fabulous costume parade through the museum’s galleries.
Then join a special Story Time event in the Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery featuring award winning Museum Victoria authors Jackie Kerin and Dianne Jackson Hill.
Diane Jackson Hill’s much loved book, Chooks in Dinner Suits. Diane is also the author of Annabel’s Dance and Baby Band.
Jackie Kerin is a well-known author and performer in schools and festivals around Australia. Her books include Phar Lap the Wonder Horse, illustrated by Patricia Mullins, and Lyrebird. A True Story, illustrated by Peter Gouldthorpe, which was an Honour book at the 2012 CBCA Book of the Year Awards.
