In the Rocks-Camera-Action program students learn about the rock cycle, using the Dynamic Earth exhibition, which showcases amazing minerals, rocks, interactives and immersive experiences.

During the program students work in teams of three to research, create and share a short movie about an aspect of the Rock Cycle. Each team will be given a ‘mission card’ and using rocks and exhibits in Dynamic Earth will produce a one minute documentary to take back to school.

Students will also build their personal and social capabilities as they perform a variety of team roles and work collaboratively to complete a set task.

All equipment is provided during this museum staff-led program, and student documentaries are made available to download at school.

60 minutes, however we recommend an additional 30 minutes for exhibition viewing time.
