Learn why the Earth’s climate is changing, and what we can do to help.

Scientific data shows that Earth’s climate is changing. But what does this mean? And what can we do about it?

This online virtual learning program provides an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of climate science, and expand their thinking around climate action!

Climate change and Victoria’s future begins by unpacking the relationship between weather and climate and examining the role that the atmosphere plays in stabilising our climate. The program then shifts its focus to Victoria, as students use information from the latest climate science report to learn about Victoria’s climate risks and what can be done to mitigate them.

This 90-minute program is delivered as a virtual incursion by museum educators. Please note that the start time of this program can be altered slightly to to fit in with school timetables, eg. 9.15am–10.45am.

The structure of the program is as follows:

40 min whole class online learning component directed by museum educator
25 min small group classroom activity facilitated in class teacher using museum resources
25 min whole class online discussion and sharing directed by museum educator

Teachers will receive printable resources to support student learning during this program.
