Experience something special at our brand new Members Masterclasses. Designed especially for our members, we are collaborating with creatives, experts and inspirational people to host exciting and surprising masterclasses.

Join us for a special masterclass with Australia’s leading Ebru artist Oznur Ates and make your own bespoke silk scarf to take home. Oznur is one of the few artists in Australia to master the ancient form of Turkish marbling. This fascinating art form uses handmade dyes and pigments, suspended on an aqueous solution and marbled with specialised tools to produce vivid, mesmerising artworks on paper and fabric. In this intimate workshop you will have the opportunity to curate your own colour palette from a selection of handmade pigments, perfect your design on paper and then immortalise your design in a one-of-a-kind silk scarf to add into your wardrobe.

Check out Oznur Ates on facebook and instagram

While your personalised scarf dries, enjoy complimentary traditional baklava, Turkish tea and conversation with Oznur herself or seek some tranquillity in our current community exhibition, Kimlik: Turkish Identity in Australia Today on level one, of which Oznur is featured.

Museum Members attending this workshop will receive complimentary parking at 15 William Street. The free exit pass will be provided at the Masterclass.

Suitable for adults only.
