Club (detail)
Kinikini

Long handled leaf-shaped club, fully decorated. Clubs like these are said to be carried by chiefs as symbols of rank and authority, not used at all in battle. There is some speculation that its origin is in Samoa, because of the lack of wings on the sides of the blade. The entire club is decorated in traditional tattoo designs.
