Club (detail)

A very heavy spatulate bladed or paddle club serrated on the distal edges of the two wings. This is a club carried into battle and used both as a parrying shield and sword club, wielded in such a way that the edges of the club cut through flesh and bone. Such clubs are said to be Samoan or Tongan in origin but were commonly used in all parts of Fiji.
