Students are introduced to the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre and its role in educating people about the material and non-material culture of the First Peoples of Victoria.

The First Peoples exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Yulendj (knowledge) group, which comprises elders from across Victoria.

Students will interact with the perspective of Yulendj members through a self-directed trail - a beautiful 24 page illustrated booklet that poses a number of challenging questions. Students will come to understand the non-homogeneity of Australian Indigenous cultures, and gain a deeper understanding of the complex history and cultures of Aboriginal people in Australia.

The questions have been informed by the VCE study guide for Sociology and address the concept of material and non-material culture.

A map of the exhibition is included in the book and serves to illustrate the narrative journey of the exhibition.
